  • To be published in the Journal of Asian Linguistic Anthropology, https://jala.glocal-journals.link

5. Signatory Status

a. I am the author of the manuscript signing on behalf of all authors.

b. If No to the above, I am NOT an author but signing on behalf of the authors.

6. License Agreement

  • License of publishing rights
I hereby grant to the JALA, the Journal of Asian Linguistic Anthropology, an exclusive publishing and distribution license in the manuscript identified above, together with other material submitted for publication as part of the manuscript (the “Article” entitled “A Corpus-Based Diachronic Study of Laughter Onomatopoeia in Chinese”) in print, electronic and all other media (whether now known or later developed), in any form, in all languages, throughout the world, for the full term of copyright, and the right to license others to do the same, effective when the Article is accepted for publication. This license includes the right to enforce the rights granted hereunder against third parties. This license agreement is perpetual for all of time, from the signing of this agreement. As such, I will not at any point publish this paper in another publication, of any type, media, category and so forth.
  • Date of Publishing
I acknowledge that the JALA, the Journal of Asian Linguistic Anthropology, will publish the paper such that it is dated in alignment with the intentions of the Journal. The Journal seeks to maximize the impact of the manuscript and will thus publish the paper in a volume and issue that satisfies this intention.
  • Supplemental Materials
“Supplemental Materials” shall describe materials published as a supplemental part of the Article, including but not limited to graphical, illustrative, video and audio material. With respect to any Supplemental Materials that I submit, The GLOCAL, the Global Council on Anthropological Linguistics, shall have a perpetual worldwide, non-exclusive right and license to publish, extract, reformat, adapt, build upon, index, redistribute, link to, and otherwise use all or any part of the Supplemental Materials, in all forms and media (whether now known or later developed) and permit others to do so. The publisher shall apply the same end user license to the Supplemental Materials as to the Article where it publishes the Supplemental Materials with the Article in the journal on its online platforms on an Open Access basis.
  • Manuscript Licensing
“Research Data” shall mean the result of observations or experimentation that validate research findings and that are published separately to the Article, which can include but are not limited to raw data, processed data, software, algorithms, protocols and methods. With respect to any Research Data that I wish to make accessible on a site or through a service of the GLOCAL, the GLOCAL shall have a perpetual worldwide, non-exclusive right and license to publish, extract, reformat, adapt, build upon, index, redistribute, link to and otherwise use all or any part of the Manuscript in all forms and media (whether now known or later developed), and permit others to do so. I hereby agree to the user license under which the Manuscript is to be made available on any site chosen by the JALA and through any service preferred by the JALA, The JALA, at the GLOCAL, shall apply that end user license to the Manuscript on any such site or service. This pertains only to the Manuscript that I wish to avail to the GLOCAL.
  • Monetization
The GLOCAL shall not at any point in time appropriate this manuscript for monetary purposes. The GLOCAL does and will always represent a free to publish and free to read house for its journals and publications. However, this does not govern the requirements of third parties such as other publishers, but rather, limits the GLOCAL from receiving funds and from monetizing the work of its collaborating authors. The JALA and the GLOCAL will always endorse a free to publish system, through stringent peer review policies.
  • General Particulars
The Scientific Paper submitted for consideration to the JALA must comprise between 7,000 and 12,000 words, and must adhere to a scientific format of five or section main sections, and within which there are sib sections. The methodological focus must be anthropologically and linguistically rigorous, where the paper must also contain a theoretical element both in the literature review and in the discussion. Furthermore, the literature review must contain current literature which evidences the author’s knowledge of up to the minute scholarship. In terms of style, the authors agree to limiting their use of positivist language, and if not, the editors of the JALA will edit the style as such, as the reviewers are strict on the omission of such positivist language.
  • Current Ownership
I currently, and prior to and only until the point of signing this agreement, retain the copyright of the Article and I have contacted all relevant parties so as to receive all publishing rights on all third-party objects in the manuscript. I also understand that the intellectual property included in at least the majority of the manuscript is owned by me and my coauthors. As the representative author of the Article. I understand that, in order to reuse the article in full, I must request permission from the JALA, GLOCAL, in writing. However, any use must be accompanied by full citation to the JALA, or any of its third-party licensees, and to which the JALA has assigned full permission to use the manuscript, in writing.. I understand that the manuscripts entitled as above will be published only by the JALA, eternally, for the purpose of expanding the visibility and impact of my work, and for hence raising my citation visibility. I also understand that, should I be in a position to, following the provision of all licensing agreements, monetize the article, and thus, following permission of appropriate and relevant use by the JALA, the JALA may strictly NOT receive any of this income, and the JALA, as well as the GLOCAL, will remain fully devoid of profiting from any monetization generated from this manuscript. In the event that the authors profit from the licensing of this manuscript, following strict written permission by the JALA, the world will be informed that the JALA, at The GLOCAL, has not received any portion of this monetization.
  • User rights
The publisher will apply the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY) to the Article where it publishes the Article in the journal on its online platforms on an Open Access basis. The CC BY license allows users to copy, to create extracts, abstracts and new works from the Article, to alter and revise the Article and to make commercial use of the Article (including reuse and/or resale of the Article by commercial entities), provided that the user gives appropriate credit (with a link to the formal publication through the relevant DOI), provides a link to the license, indicates if changes were made and the licensor is not represented as endorsing the use made of the work. The full details of the license are available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/byy-nc-nd/4.0/legalcode
  • Reversion of rights
Articles may sometimes be accepted for publication, and rights will be transferred to the JALA, but later may later be rejected in the publication process, even in some cases after public posting in “Articles in Press” form, in which case all rights will revert to the author. This usually occurs when the authors are found to have misrepresented their authorship and the ownership of the intellectual property within the manuscript.
  • Revisions and Addenda
I understand that no revisions, additional terms, or addenda to this License Agreement can be accepted without the GLOCAL’s written consent, where this Agreement supersedes any previous agreements that I have entered into with the GLOCAL in relation to the Article from the date hereof.

7. Copyright Notice

  • The publisher shall publish and distribute the Article with the appropriate copyright notice.

8. Subsequent Editing, Changes, and Additions

  • The JALA reserves the right to request additional revisions, edits, or any other changes, as it sees appropriate so as to prepare the paper for a level adequate for publishing. The author agrees to these revisions, with the knowledge that these changes and additions will contribute to the betterment of both author expertise and paper quality, as well as to the quality of the JALA. The author acknowledges that the manuscript will not be published until the JALA agrees to that the quality of the manuscript is ready for publication in the JALA.
  • The JALA also retains the right to make small syntactic or lexical refinements to the manuscript, as a process of editing.

9. Author Representations/Ethics and Disclosure

  • I affirm the Author Representations noted below, and confirm that I have reviewed and complied with the relevant Instructions to Authors, Ethics in Publishing policy, Declarations of Interest disclosure, and all information for authors from countries affected by sanctions. I am also aware of the publisher’s policies with respect to retractions and withdrawal (https://jala.glocal-journals.link).
  • The Article I have submitted to the journal for review and / or publishing is original, has been written by the stated authors and has not been previously published.
  • The Article was not submitted for review to another journal while under review by this journal and will not be submitted to any other journal.
  • The Article and Supplemental Materials do not infringe any copyright, violate any intellectual property, privacy or other rights of any person or entity, or contain libelous or unlawful matters.
  • I have obtained written permission from copyright owners for any excerpts from copyrighted works that are included and have credited the sources in the Article or the Supplemental Materials.
  • Except as expressly set out in this License Agreement, the Article is not subject to any prior rights or licenses and, if my or any of my co- authors’ institution has any policy that might restrict my ability to grant the rights required by this License Agreement (taking into account the Scholarly communication rights permitted hereunder), a written waiver of that policy has been obtained.
