Ikuko Nakane
Ikuko Nakane (she/her) is Professor in Japanese Studies at the Asia Institute. Her research interests include Japanese sociolinguistics, language and law (forensic linguistics), and Japanese language education. Her PhD (USyd) examined silence in intercultural communication, and she continues to explore multifaceted roles and meanings of silence in various contexts of social interaction in her research.
