Characteristics and Functions of Intrasentential Conjunctions in Indonesian National Print Media

Abstract
This study examines the attributes, structures, actions, and purposes of intrasentential conjunctions in Indonesian national print media. To aid our corpus of data, we conducted an ethnography and analysis by focusing on both equivalent and distribution approaches. The results suggest that rhetoric in specific forms of media and its genres favour conjunctions, a bias that reflects unique stylistic and rhetorical requirements. The study also examines ways in which the selection and positioning of conjunctions impact the way readers comprehend and engage with the texts.
The findings add to a deeper comprehension of linguistic strategies employed in Indonesian (and broader) print media, to establish textual coherence and to improve the effectiveness of communication. This research has ramifications for both language studies and practical applications in journalism and media writing, offering insights into the creation of logical and persuasive texts directed to broader social domains.
